He wouldn't have many Friendsters

Okay, now come on. With all this evidence, it's just so obvious that the free ride Bush gets from the media goes deeper than his mere "personable nature" and "likability", as apologists would have you believe. When an unpopular President is consistently treated as immensely popular with the public, in the face of logic and clear evidence to the contrary, hell, whenever anything false is portrayed as true, you know there's money behind it. Lots. The Republican money-machine has it. The rest of us don't.
But, again, as I'm so fond of pointing out, how many more times to we need to be reassured of what we already know?

Comments

WIth a couple of comments about Friendster now (including the warning about it being like online crack) - I gotta ask...are you actually on Friendster? I've more or less avoided it, but I do have an account. Let me know...
Yer bro.

No, I am NOT on Friendster. I firmly refuse, and believe it is every American's patriotic duty also to refuse to join this online popularity contest. I understand the one, read, ONE reason for joining as valid: The chance of randomly finding an old friend you thought you'd lost forever. However, if you really cared, you probably could've found that friend in a basic Internet search, if they're free enough with their personal info to be on Friendster. Thus- it's evil. I hated popularity crap enough in high school- and almost every pro-Friendster person I know can rattle off lists of how many Friendsters they (and others!) have. Yikes.

Heh. Fair enough. In self defense, I can think of one other reason for joining (but not for advocating) - which is to se what the heck all the fuss is about. Join, take a look around, and never log back in.
As for using it to find old friends - I'm not sure that's even a good reason to join. There are (as you say) better ways. I mean, heck, even classmates.com is probably better for _that_.
It mostly seems like a way to find dates by annoying your friends, if you do online dating.
